Friday 5 with KB 2.8.13: A hard snow’s going to fall

content_img

In this week’s edition of the , the CBSSports.com senior writer discusses more Ls soon as possible. That’s according to The Sun, which reports his team-mates are convinced there is no way back for the Frenchman, who fears the club remain two or three years behind Manchester City and Liverpool.United boss Ole Gunner Solskjaer claiakers disaster, buyers and sellers at the deadline and Snowocalypse 2013. You can follow Ken on Twitter at

What move are they going to make? Pau was their most tradeable asset, and they can’t move him now. Unless they’re going to move Dwight and completely punt on this season and who knows how many more, I don’t see much in the way of a substantial trade that’s there for them. But given what a left turn Dwight’s short tenure with the Lakers has taken, I would expect the usual suspects — Brooklyn, Houston, Dallas — to jump in and see if Mitch Kupchak can be tempted to go back on his, “We’re not trading Dwight Howard” statement. Which makes you wonder: Does Kupchak’s statement go down in history with George H.W. Bush’s “read my lips, no new taxes”? A lot can happen between now and Feb. 21. But the way the Celtics have steadied themselves definitely has swung the pendulum away from a massive-overhaul type trade. I believe the buyers will be teams with the most cap space this summer: , and . Because let’s be honest. If you’re not getting Dwight Howard or in free agency — and they’re not — who are you getting? Better to parlay your assetsakhtar Donetsk 5-0 in their UEFA Youth League clash last night.Paul Harsley’s side were three goals to the good inside half an hour, thanks to Morgan Rogers, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Ian Poveda’s strikes, with substitutes Nabil Touazi and Adrian Berna and room into veteran talent now — and talent that’s probably on a shorter contract than the four-year deal that you’d have to give to a mediocre free agent. I still view the Celtics as a seller to some degree because they’re $1.5 million over the tax and clearly aren’t a title contender. All the other tax teams pretty much intended to be there, but another team I see as a potential seller is (). And if it’s possible for Atlanta to be a buyer and a seller, they’re a seller when it comes to .That would certainly make sense. His role is shrinking alreadndefeated. The Reds came from behind to win at Aston Villa on Saturday. It means they remain unbeaten in the Premier League this season, surviving a number of scares to lead to some claims they could emulate Arsenal’s remarkable achievement from the 20y and will shrink even more once returns. The Bulls said they were committed to paying the tax this year. But if they can dive under without hurting themselves, why not? The cost of dumping Rip’s contract shouldn’t be prohibitive, either, since he only has $1 million guaranteed next season. Let’s see. We’ve got the fridge stocked with food, plenty of water, paleo snacks — everything but beef jerky. I always forget the beef jerky.

Bradley Beal done for the season with stress injury in right fibula

content_img

Anay.Gazzetta dello Sport says Wolves are locked in talks with Rugani’s agent, Davide Torchia, about convincing the defender about moving to Molineux.Rugani has been in talks with Arsenal, but terms have failed to be settled with Juve.Juve are demandind so another rookie is done in by injuries.

The announced Wednesday that rookie guard . Beal averaged 13.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists this season on just 41-percent shooting. He played in just 56 games due to injury.

Beal’s season really did perk up as the year went along, though. Here are his splits per month this year:

November: 11 ppg, 34 percent shooting, 32 percent from three.

December: 13 ppg, 37 percent, 18 percent from three.

January: 15 ppg, 45 percent, 51 percent from three.

February: 17.5 ppg, 48 percent, 42 percent from three (eight games).

March: 15 ppg, 48 percent, 54 percent from three (six games).

It’s a shame that we don’t get to see him finish the year. But if he can get healthy, he certainly looks like the star shooter whom the Wizards wanted to put next to . Very little went right for the Wizards this season, but signs point to a brighardiola at Manchester City. The City legend left the club this summer after 11 years to take up a player-manager role at Anderlecht.”I should’ve expected this question and yet I’m surprised,” the 33-year-old said. “Let me lian Nagelsman praised Ethan Ampadu for his performance in victory at Champions League opponents Tottenham. The occasion and performance was the biggest moment of Ampadu’s career and the on-loan Chelsea defender has won over his coach.”Ethan proved atstart with this. Let City be ter future, for once.

The Wizards are still technically alive for the eighth seed in the East, but their dark magic number (number of losses or wins by Milwaukee to eliminate them from playoff position) is just one entering Wednesday night.

For now, however, his defense is still well ahead of his offensive game, especially since he only showed one season of sustained excellence as a jump shooter. Oladipo will get every chance to succeed as a rookie, so while there may be some ups and downs while he gets up to speed, he should be a solid Fantasy option. Consider targeting Oladipo in the middle rounds on Draft Day based almost solely on his upside.

Spurs-Warriors Game 3 Preview: What if this is the norm?

content_img

Previewing Friday night’s Game 3 of the playoffs series between the and .

The Warriors managed to win one of the games in San Antonio and did iSheffield United will play a top La Liga club in preseason. The Blades have announced a friendly with Real Betis while they are on their preseason camp in Portugal. The match will take place on Friday 12th July, kick-off 8pm local time. The newly promoted club will face Bournemouth in the Premier League opening round.t in spectacular fashion to even this up at 1-1. While it was just a nine-point victory, they once again got an incredible shooting performance by one of their young guards. Even though  struggled with his shot (7 of 20 for 22 points), managed to pick up the slack and fire upoque Lyon for striker Moussa Dembele. The former Fulham starlet has attracted an offer from Chelsea and enquiries from Manchester United and Arsenal.Foot Mercato says Spurs have made contact with OL about opening negotiations for Dembele as they seek cn the scoreboard. He knocked down eight of his nine 3-point attempts with seven of them coming in the first half. He was smothering from the perimeter, and the Spurs really didn’t have much of an answer for it. Now that the Spurs have given away a home game with poor shooting and confused defense, they have to go into Oakland and try to steal one back to regain home-court advantage. That’s easier said than done.

 14. The biggest problem for the Spurs in Game 2 might have been the fact that they had so few assists. On 35 made shots, the Spurs had just 14 assists. That’s a really bad ratio for them. During the regular season, San Antonio averaged 38.4 made baskets and 24.6 assists when you adjust for pace. The Spurs do an incredible job of moving the ball to the open shooter or cutter, and that just wasn’t there. You can chalk some of that up to their poor shooting because they made 39.3 percent of their shots in Game 2. But early in the game, they couldn’t keep pace with the Warriors because they managed just four assists in the first half. If they can share the ball better and have it lead to made shots in Game 3, they might be able to steal it.

Be physical and stalk the perimeter. In the Warriors’ last 17 games, they’ve shot under 36.4 percent from 3-point range just once. It was Game 5 against the Denver Nuggets, when Denver held them to 28.0 percent. How did Denver do it? Well, Mark Jackson would tell you that there was a mole inside the Nuggets team that informed him they were going to be dirty or come after Stephen Curry or hope they’d get caught . What the Nuggets really did was play physical defense, bumped the shooters coming off screens and overflooded the perimeter. The Warriors aren’t keen on driving to the basket on most possessions. They have a strength in shooting the ball and want to take advantage of that strength. The Spurs llarreal. The veteran midfielder has rebuilt his career with the Yellow Submarine after being cut loose by Arsenal last summer. After captaining Spain last week, Cazorla has received a further boost with a new contract offer. The new deal is worth a bashave to take away that strength, dare them to drive to the basket and hope their rotations are disciplined enough to challenge every shot, no matter where it ends up.

Are the Warriors above the mean? Fans and media members are starting to wonder just how far the Warriors’ shooting will carry them. We keep hearing about the Warriors eventually regressing to the mean and seeing their shooting percentages plummet back down to Earth. But what if this is the mean for the Warriors? The evolution of the game has seen the 3-point shot become the biggest weapon in basketball. Even the most athletic attack in the world (the Miami Heat) is keen on freeing up shooters in the corners. With each evolution of the game, there is always one team way out ahead of it that leads to others catching up. What if the Warriors are the team that is out ahead of everybody and incredible shooting is going to have to become the norm? Instead of waiting for them to come down to Earth, the opponents are going to have to force that to happen or learn how to catch up in a hurry.

10:30 p.m. ET start time. is questionable with a torn hip flexor.

LeBron on his flopping fine: ‘It is what it is’

MIAMI — “It is what it is.”

That was ‘ comment on his $5,000 flopping fine. Which if I understand that colloquialism correctly, that’s basically an admission of guilt, right?

LeBron was then asked if he “earned” the penalty.

“Earned it?” LeBron asked dimissively.

Did you flop? Did you earn your fine?

“Come on, man, quit it,” he said. “Next question.”

And that was that.

LeBron was hit with the $5,000 fine — the first any na coach Ernesto Valverde admits Aritz Aduriz’s stunning last-minute winner for Athletic Bilbao came as no surprise.Valverde worked youngster Luke Bolton has joined Luton Town on loan. The England U20 international enjoyed a loan spell in the second half of the campaign at the Town’s then-League One rivals Wycombe Wanderers, making ten appearances for Gareth Ainsworth’s team.Afterwith the 38 year-old as Athletic coach.”With Aduriz, any ball in the air is a danger and he got his goal,” Valverde saplayer has received this season, regular or playoffs — .

Lakers respond to Mark Cuban’s ‘amnesty Kobe’ advice

content_img

(Getty Images)

Mark Cuban had an idea for the and not surprisingly, chose to share it.

Essentially, the Mavericks owner said the Lakers should consider using the amnesty clause on . And the Lakers didn’t appreciate it. , the team had a response:

“We’re aware of Mark Cuban’s comments. We feel they’re inappropriate,” Lakers spokesman John Black said. “As far as the issue itself, we’re not going to comment publicly on the amnesty issue as it relates to any of our players.”

:

“If you look at their payroll, even if Dwight (Howard) comes back, you’ve got to ask the question: Should they amnesty Kobe?” Cuban said during an appearance on ESPN Dallas 103.3 FM’s “Ben and Skin Show.”

“So I’m just saying that hypothetically. When I say amnesty Kobe, I don’t think they’d do it, but they’ve got some choices to make. Now, they’re in a big market, but they’re still limited. The Knicks, the same thing. Boston, same thing.”

I’m sure Cuban is hanging a “mission accomplished” banner in his office for forcing a response from the Lakers and getting under their skin a bit. That’s what he does, and he does it extremely well.

Bryant was asked about it and properly blew it off saying simply, “I bet he did,” in response to Cuban’s sugl Pellegrini says they haven’t changed their style after victory at Watford.Having picked up a first win of the season, after a heavy home defeat to Manchester City and a draw with Brighton & Hove Albion, Pellegrini believes his preferred style ogestion.

The issue is real, though. Bryant is set to make a league-high $30.45 million next season, which will puo Rivas says Real Madrid star Gareth Bale remains on the agenda. The Welshman was linked with a move in the summer, though that deal fell through. “I understand that Shanghai Shenhua have the financial capacity to sign Bale,” Rivas, who operated as Qut the Lakers over $100 million in total payroll. With the new punitive luxury tax, the Lakers would owe around $85 million in tax payments because of it.

The Lakers still have their amnesty provision, having not used it yet. The rule is that you can use it once on a player on your roster when the new Collective Bargaining Agreement was signed. So the Lakers only have four players eligible — , , and, of course, Bryant.

In some ways, it honestly does make sense, but come on, it’s not happening and we all know iterty in UK football, according to POWA Index, the real-time sports sponsorship valuation engine, reports, /.As of February 2020 Liverpool dethroned United at the top of the POWA Index with a score of 18,549. The top five consists entirely of Premier . Cuban was stirring the pot and having some fun.

Also fun: The Lakers play the on Sunday.
